JAC Student Selected as a Finalist for the Loran Scholar
Congratulations to JAC science student Masha Rudak on being selected as a 2024 Loran Scholar finalist!
Out of over 5,200 applicants, 90 young individuals from Canadian high schools and CEGEPs were selected for a chance to be named one of 36 Loran Scholars and receive the Loran Award (valued at more than $100,000) to support their education at one of Loran’s 25 Canadian University partners.
Masha’s involvement at JAC and in her community has made her a perfect candidate for the Loran Scholarship:
- Member of 6 clubs and Congress during her first year, including participating in 2 Variety Shows
- Member of planning committees such as Carnival week, Multicultural week, Spring Fest, and the Leadership Retreat
- JAC Foundation Board of Director member 2023-2024
- SUJAC VP Finance 2023-2024
- Head delegate of JACMUN 2023-2024
- Over 250 in total volunteer hours at JAC
“Being selected as a finalist only confirms that all the time and effort I devote to my communities truly matters. The selection process has already been incredibly insightful, and it motivates me to continue to contribute, regardless of whether I receive the Award or not.” – Masha Rudak on what being named a finalist means to her.
Masha will be heading to Toronto at the end of February for the final interview process.
On behalf of the entire JAC community, CONGRATS Masha! You have the entire community supporting you.
