Charbel Mourad appointed Academic Dean of John Abbott College
Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue (Quebec) – June 12, 2024 – The Board of Governors of John Abbott College is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Charbel Mourad as Academic Dean, to begin in the fall.
Mr. Mourad brings 17 years of diverse educational experience to John Abbott College. Most recently, as Director of Continuing Education at Cégep de Lanaudière, he led a team dedicated to lifelong learning and student success. At the Provincial Organization of Continuing Education Directors, English (PROCEDE), he developed a collaborative model to expand access to English language training. His career includes roles with the Ministry of Education and as Education Advisor at Heritage College, among others. Charbel holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s from Concordia University and is pursuing a doctorate at Université de Sherbrooke.
Mr. Mourad will replace former Academic Dean, Teresa Berghello, who will transition to the position of Director General, succeeding Mr. John Halpin, who is retiring after a decade of exceptional service.
