Summer School Fees
The deadline to pay summer fees for pre-registered students (priorities A and B) is May 20, 2026.
For students registering on June 3, 2026, Summer School fees are due June 3, 2026 at 16:00.
Failure to pay Summer School fees by the deadline above will result in deregistration. Students with outstanding College debt cannot be registered in summer courses until the debt has been cleared.

International students must have a valid student visa and medical health insurance coverage until August 16, 2026 to be permitted to register.
***Fin d’études students in the Day division who need 1-2 courses to graduate in the summer and, who have not been considered part-time or “fin d’études” in a previous semester will only be required to pay registration fees of $29/course.***

Course Withdrawal / Drop and Refund Policy
To officially withdraw/drop a course, students must provide a written request by email to summerschool@johnabbott.qc.ca, which includes:
SUBJECT: Withdrawal/Drop
BODY:
Your full name
Your student ID
Course number and section number of the course you want to drop
Courses withdrawn from a student record before or on the official withdrawal deadline will not appear on a student transcript. Registration and application fees are non-refundable. Tuition fees are fully refunded prior to the withdrawal deadline. NO REFUND after the withdrawal deadline. Educational Support fee and Student Services fee are fully refunded before the first scheduled class/50% refund before the withdrawal deadline/ NO REFUND after the withdrawal deadline. Courses validated as attending and dropped in time for the course-specific drop deadline are not refunded. An ‘AE’ (Abandon) notation will be added to the student transcript. No grade will be associated with the course. There will be no exceptions to these deadlines.
IMPORTANT – Refunds are done by cheque and mailed to the address on Omnivox. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for the processing of the refund.
Attendance Validation
The day after the withdraw deadline, you must confirm your attendance in the course(s) in which you are registered using the OMNIVOX ATTENDANCE VALIDATION module.
Waitlist
As of June 3 at 2 p.m., if you were unable to register for a course, you can request to add your name to the waitlist by completing the online form: Online Waitlist Form – Click here – Form will be available as of June 3.

How do I register for a High School ‘Make Up’ course at John Abbott?
Registration for Sec IV or Sec V High School make-up Math course, please send an E-mail to summerschool@johnabbott.qc.ca if you wish to be added to a High School Math waitlist, as the summer High School courses are now full.
Please note, these are non-credit courses (do not count towards your CEGEP diploma). Please verify that you have the necessary pre-requisite(s) in order to register for a course.

How Do I Register For A CEGEP Course at John Abbott?
Once you have established your priority, you must complete the online Summer School Registration Form. (form available as of May 1, 2026 at 8 a.m.)
PRIORITY A
- Graduating students needing 1 to 3 courses to complete diploma requirements or graduating students needing extra courses, where space permits, to meet university prerequisites.
- Students will be pre-registered in their course(s) no later than May 25, 2026. Information will be sent to you via OMNIVOX under “Information Intended for You”.
- IMPORTANT: Permission to take a course at another CEGEP (commandite) will NOT be given for a course(s) that you are pre-registered in at John Abbott.
PRIORITY B
- Students graduating in the Fall semester needing 1 or 2 courses above their regular course load for their program OR Students graduating in the Fall semester needing 1 or 2 summer courses to stay in sequence.
- Space permitting, students will be pre-registered in their course(s) no later than June 2, 2026. Information will be sent to you via OMNIVOX under “Information Intended for You”.
- IMPORTANT: Permission to take a course at another CEGEP (commandite) will NOT be given for a course(s) that you are pre-registered in at John Abbott.
PRIORITY C
- Anyone who does not qualify as a Priority A or Priority B.
- Students will be notified of their appointment time by June 2, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. via Omnivox. Registration will be on June 3, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
602-REN-AB Renforcement en français écrit, Summer 2026, June 4 – July 13
For current John Abbott College students who have studied in or outside of Quebec and who must write the French exit exam (EUF), and who have not met the language skills to take the first preparatory course 602-UF0-AB.

How do I register for course(s) at another CEGEP ?
IMPORTANT: Students are responsible for registering with the CEGEP where the course will be followed. Any summer course taken as a pre-requisite to a fall 2026 course must be completed by the start of the fall 2026 semester.
Request to take a course at Cégep à Distance (Commandite):
John Abbott students who want to take a summer course on commandite at Cégep à Distance must complete the online form below. The form will be available starting May 1 – here. After June 25, students must reach out to Academic Advising to discuss the possibility to take a Cégep a Distance course in the summer.

Request to take a course at another Cegep (Commandite)
John Abbott students are permitted to take a course on commandite at another Cegep.
If you are a PRIORITY A or B, you are not able to request the same course both at John Abbott and at another Cegep.
If you want to take a course at another Cegep, you MUST see an Academic Advisor during “Quick Advising” on the following days and times:

Week 2:

Request to take a course at a French Cegep (Commandite):
Si vous souhaitez poursuivre des cours dans un cégep francophone cet été, vous pouvez consulter ce site pour une liste des cégeps participants et des cours disponibles: service régional d’admission du montréal métropolitain – Cours d’été (sram.qc.ca)
Pour vous inscrire, envoyez un MIO à ACADEMIC ADVISING au plus tard le 21 avril avec le sujet SRAM COURS D’ÉTÉ afin d’obtenir un rendez-vous avec un API (Academic Advisor).
Fall 2026 Registration Adjustments (For Day Division Students)
Potential summer graduates who fail a Summer School course OR students who need to add/drop fall courses after receiving Summer School grades must send an email to reception@johnabbott.qc.ca by August 5, 2026 and include:
Subject: your name, ID number and program.
Body: a clear explanation of the issues you are having.
- Students currently registered at another CEGEP must request a “cours commandite” from their CEGEP.
- Commandites will be received May 1 – May 25. Student Priority must be indicated on the commandite, as well as student e-mail address. Commandites received afterwards will not be processed.
- Once the commandite is processed by John Abbott College, students will receive an email with a link to pay the $30 application fee.
- Commandites will be processed June 3 (where space permits).
- Students will be notified by e-mail June 3. Fees will be due June 3.
- Former John Abbott College students needing 1-3 courses to complete their DEC in summer please send an e-mail to summerschool@johnabbott.qc.ca
- Students who are currently not attending a CEGEP level institution please send an e-mail to summerschool@johnabbott.qc.ca
- Registration requests will only be processed after Priority A & B John Abbott students are registered.
- Specific documents are required to prove that you are eligible to study in Quebec. Students must email their documents to summerschool@johnabbott.qc.ca

- Your valid Quebec birth certificate (indicating parents’ names)
AND - Statement of Marks IF you graduated high school outside of Quebec or obtained an equivalent diploma
Born in Canada, but not in Quebec
- Your valid birth certificate (indicating parents’ names)
AND - One of your parents’ valid Medicare card (if living with your parents) OR Your valid Medicare card (if no longer living with your parents)
AND - Statement of Marks IF you graduated high school outside of Quebec or obtained an equivalent diploma
Born outside of Canada, but are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Your valid birth certificate (indicating parents’ names) in English or French
AND - Canadian citizenship papers (both sides) OR permanent residency papers (both sides)
AND - Certificat de Sélection (CSQ) – If applicable
OR - One of your parents’ valid Medicare card (if living with your parents) OR Your valid Medicare card (if no longer living with your parents)
AND - Statement of Marks IF you graduated high school outside of Quebec or obtained an equivalent diploma
