Congratulations to John Abbott College’s nominee for the 2024 AQPC – Prix de mention d’honneur – Maria Popica – faculty member, French Department
Maria stands out for her pedagogical versatility, adopting a variety of innovative approaches to teaching, resource development and research in French as a second language.
With the academic and socio-cultural development of her students at heart, she creates a stimulating and inclusive educational environment that combines experiential and collaborative learning. By encouraging human interaction, she aims to achieve an optimal balance to maximise student motivation.
Maria works with various departments and institutions (AQEFLS, QUESCREN, CPF, LBPSB, CIUSS, Réseau des cégeps montréalais, theatres, museums), demonstrating a sustained commitment to student success.
