Book Launch at John Abbott College
Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC – October 6, 2016 –English teachers Will McClelland and Lori Weber each launched their respective books at a campus gathering on Thursday, September 29.
Will McClelland creates a world in his book The Minted where the characters live an allegory of Canadian society. Written for an adult audience, this is the first book for author and John Abbott College English teacher McClelland who says that he started work on this novel fifteen years ago.
Lightning Lou is the 10th book written by Lori Weber, the first destined for young readers. This novel takes place in World War I Canada when men were shipping out to serve in the war. Loosely based on a true story, a boy decides to disguise himself as a girl in order to play for the only hockey team in town, the women’s team.
These thought provoking books are both available in all the popular bookstores and online.
