General Requirements:
- Graduating CEGEP in the 2025/2026 academic year
- Canadian citizen
- Plan to enroll in an eligible STEM program at a Schulich partner university
- Meet the following criteria:
– Entrepreneurial-minded (Exhibiting leadership, charisma, and creativity)
– Strong consideration will be given to students with financial need
– Intend to pursue a career in one or more of the following focus areas: Technology; Engineering; Entrepreneurship and business enterprise; Applied scientific research - Schulich is not considering students who:
– Focus on activism (environmental/political/social)
– Intend to become a practicing physician and/or medical researcher
– Intend to pursue a career in academia or conduct theoretical reseach
Applications should be sent by MIO to Simon Roughley by Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 4 p.m. and include:
- Essay highlighting what you are passionate about – 250 words maximum
- Essay highlighting how you demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset (including leadership, charisma and creativity) – 250 words maximum
- Essay highlighting what makes you an ideal candidate for this award – 250 words maximum
- Optional essay to outline extenuating academic circumstances – 250 words maximum
- The Universities you wish to attend in the future (see list of partner universities)
- Your top three achievements (academic or other) – 50 words maximum per achievement
- A short answer to convey your career aspirations 10 years from now – 50 words maximum
- 2 reference letters:
A single-page letter to include email and telephone contact information of the referee
Referee to send reference letter in PDF format by MIO to: Simon Roughley - A copy of your Omnivox final statement of grades up to Fall 2025.
