History | In recognition of artistic spirit, personality, talent and passion of Ben McKinnon who passed away in late 2016 at age 24, the Hudson Village Theatre company and Ben’s family created The Ben McKinnon Memorial Scholarship. This generous scholarship of $500 is awarded annually (amount may vary from year to year depending on resources) to a current student who exemplifies a passion for pursuing the Theatre arts, who contributes to the community, and who is deemed in need of financial assistance in order to continue their studies. |

Elizabeth and Quentin Parker Bursaries by Thrift Shops for Nova
History | The first Thrift Shop for Nova, a non-for-profit organization, was founded in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue in 2004 and has since grown to six outlets on the West Island. Their mission is to subsidize health and social service by donating their proceeds to NOVA West Island. To complete their mission, they rely on a large network of volunteers.
The board of directors of the Thrift Shops for Nova would like to recognize the continued hard work of one of the founding members, Elizabeth Parker and her husband Quentin by creating bursaries in support of students enrolled in a Nursing program at John Abbott College. |

George Springate Memorial Scholarship
History | Established to honour the memory of George Springate, who was a unique Quebecer and Canadian. A former City of Montreal police officer and Montreal Alouettes 1970 Grey Cup champion football player, he co-founded the Police Technology program at John Abbott College in 1973. During his 33 years there, the fluently bilingual Mr. Springate was a highly respected law professor, mentor and friend to countless students and faculty. |
