A Campaign to Support John Abbott College

Built in 1907 as part of Macdonald College, the Library is the academic heart of John Abbott College.

In 2017, a Federal Strategic Investment Fund infrastructure grant for $3.6 M was approved to renovate and upgrade the Library, including a complete restoration of the 20 historic painted-glass windows in the facility.

This grant had to be matched—50%—by the Provincial Government and John Abbott, hence the need for private support. The John Abbott College Foundation undertook a $750,000 capital campaign to support the renovations to this important landmark. The upgrades to the Library have had a tremendous impact on student study and meeting space on campus
