This course will provide participants with an overview of the Android development platform including the Android operating system, and Android Studio which provides everything needed to start developing apps for Android devices. We will begin with an overview of the Java programming language and the capabilities provided by the Android Java library. Next, the structure of a basic Android application will be explained and the many tools available within the Android Studio for creating an application will be highlighted. Finally, participants will learn how to modify and run preexisting sample applications and to build their own simple applications.
