Women’s Basketball on a Roll

The Isles ran their win streak to three with a 79-61 victory over Ahuntsic College Friday evening. Annie Pollender led the Islanders with 23 points followed by Andrea Batrla with 13. Darnelle Noel and Aaliyah Hamilton chipped in with 10 points apiece.

The Islanders will close out their regular season home stand this Friday night when they entertain the Edouard Montpetit Lynx at 19h00.

Men’s Volleyball Still Leading the Way

The Isles entered the day in 1st place overall with a shot to seal up a regular season banner. The day started well with a straight sets win against Marianopolis 25-12, 25-20. The boys hit a bump in the road as they lost to Edouard Montpetit 25-16, 25-17. They were able to rebound nicely against Brébeuf winning 28-26, 25-19.

This set up the last match of the day against St. Jérome with a chance to clinch the banner on the line. The Isles came out strong but struggled midway through the first set and lost 25-20. They we able to fight back and force a decisive 3rd set with a 29-27 win. A back and forth 3rd set turned St. Jérome’s way on 2 questionable calls at 12-11, resulting in the loss 15-11.

Finishing in 3rd place in a 3-way tie, the Isles still hold a 1 point lead on St. Jérome going into the last league tournament in Abitibi on March 12th.

Men’s Basketball Split Weekend Action

Winning against St. Lambert 85-63, but then losing 90-72 to Montmorency, the Isles still control their own playoff destiny. A win on Thursday night at home versus Edouard Montpetit will put them in a ¼ final game at Vanier.

Hockey will be on the Road to Start the Playoffs

With a 4-1 loss to St. Laurent on Saturday night the Isles can finish no higher than 5th place. They will be on the road at either St. Laurent or Edouard Montpetit. The Isles still have 2 games remaining to close out the regular season. This week they are on the road to Lennoxville Friday night @ 20h00.
