Women’s Basketball in Tough vs Undefeated St Jean

The Isles faced the Géants from St. Jean-sur-Richelieu on Friday night for the second time in 3 weeks. It was a rollercoaster of a game as the Isles were down 10 early in the first and as much as 13 in the in the second. The ladies fought back each time and took the lead for the first time in the fourth quarter 56-54. That’s when the first place Géants took over the game. They went on a 17-1 run to close out the game 71-56.

Top scorers for the Isles were Kelly Corsi with 13 points and Andrea Batrla with 11. They will be back on the floor Friday Feb 10th @ Dawson.

Hockey Playing Catch-up all Game

In a battle for playoff positioning the Isles opened the front end of a home and home against Edouard Montpetit with a 3-2 loss. The Lynx scored only 15 seconds into the game and added a second goal late in the first. Edouard Montpetit added to their lead in the second period to take a 3-0 lead into the third period.

Alyson Blanchette broke the shoutout late in the third. With the goalie pulled, Juliana Classen  brought the Isles to within one with 25 seconds left, but it was too little too late. In the loss the Isles were still able to outshoot the Lynx 38 to 22. The Isles will complete the home and home on Wednesday Feb 8th at 20h00.

Men’s Basketball Game Postponed      

Due to the accident on highway 40 the Ste Foy Dynamiques were stuck in traffic for over 3 hours. The game for the final playoff spot could not be played and has been moved to Wednesday Feb 8th at 20h00 in the Casgrain gyms.
